Ukrainian Red Cross vehicle damaged by drone strike in the Donetsk region

On 6 March, in the town of Mykolaivka, located in the Government-controlled area of the Donetsk region, a Ukrainian Red Cross vehicle was struck.

As a result of a Russian drone that hit the front of the vehicle, a fire broke out. Units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine arrived at the scene and promptly extinguished the fire. Local authorities were also informed about the incident.
None of the staff or volunteers was injured in the attack. At the time of the incident, they were involved in evacuating civilians using another vehicle.

We strongly condemn attacks on civilian infrastructure and transport clearly marked with the Red Cross emblem. Such actions constitute a violation of international humanitarian law.

Despite the constant danger, staff and volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross continue to carry out their humanitarian mission — helping people affected by the war and supporting those who need it most.
