A New Phase of Support: Memorandum Signed on Mobile Rehabilitation in Remote Villages Between the Ukrainian Red Cross and Khmelnytskyi Regional Hospital

The Khmelnytskyi regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Khmelnytskyi Regional Hospital to provide mobile rehabilitation services to residents of remote villages.

Services will be delivered by mobile rehabilitation units as part of physical rehabilitation and social adaptation programmes:

  • Referrals can be made by doctors, social services, or family members after hospital discharge
  • The team assesses the situation and schedules a home visit
  • Priority is given to individuals within 12 months after an injury, trauma, or illness
  • Home rehabilitation includes assessment, an individual plan, exercises, and guidance for family members
  • Assistance with home adaptation: safe furniture, handrails, and support aids

Support will be available to both veterans and civilians who face barriers to accessing rehabilitation services.

The teams will also help adapt rooms and homes to meet individual needs, ensuring safe mobility, ease of daily living, and guidance on furniture placement, handrails, and other support aids. Rehabilitation is becoming more accessible — delivered directly to people’s homes.
