A New Space for Community Support and Unity: The Ukrainian Red Cross Opens “Colours of Life” Active Longevity Club in Smila
The “Colours of Life” Active Longevity Club was opened at the Olena Zhurlyva Central City Library in Smila, initiated by the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross. The space has been created to support older adults and encourage their active participation in community life.
Participants can take part in:
- Physical activities (Nordic walking, exercise sessions)
- Intellectual leisure (board games, group activities)
- Meetings with doctors and psychologists
- Social interaction and mutual support
At the opening, Yuliia Kholodna, head of the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, spoke, accompanied by her team, alongside representatives of the city council and the Smila Centralised Library System. Attendees emphasised the importance of collaboration between civil society organisations and cultural institutions. The event also featured musical performances by teachers from the Smila School of Arts and the Koloryt ensemble.
The “Colours of Life” Club will serve as a space of support and social engagement for its members.
