“I don’t know what I would have done if URCS didn’t take me under their care” – The Story of Nina from Poltava
Winter cash assistance through the Home-Based Care programme provides a vital lifeline for older people living alone in rural areas, helping them get through the winter with warmth and support.
Nina, a participant in the Home-Based Care programme from the village of Voronky in the Poltava region, lives alone. Empty yards, a small pension, and high firewood prices make it difficult to manage on one’s own. Thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Red Cross and financial assistance — including help with buying firewood and medicine — she can stay safe and warm at home this winter.
