Ukrainian Red Cross and Swedish Red Cross Unite Businesses to Support Ukraine

Today, the Ukrainian Red Cross and the Swedish Red Cross hosted a roundtable with representatives of Swedish businesses operating in Ukraine, including IKEA, H&M, Beetroot and SEB.

During the event, Olena Stokoz, Deputy Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, outlined the organisation’s activities in the context of the full-scale war, including its response to the energy crisis caused by attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. She also highlighted support for communities, the supply of generators to social institutions, and assistance to those most in need.

Particular emphasis was placed on the Recovery and Reconstruction programmes implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross, including REDpreneur and Reboot.

As part of the visit, the Swedish Red Cross delegation and business representatives also toured a Ukrainian Red Cross heating point, where they met with volunteers and people receiving support. The emergency response team provided a detailed overview of volunteer activities carried out as part of the response efforts.

These meetings strengthen partnerships and foster further cooperation to support people affected by the war.
