In Kholmy, Chernihiv region, the Ukrainian Red Cross held an information session on “How to Prevent Cardiovascular Diseases”

Preventing cardiovascular diseases helps reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes and improves overall quality of life. The session was led by Serhii Halperin, an experienced trainer in physical rehabilitation and social adaptation at the Chernihiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross. The training was conducted with the support of the British Red Cross.

Participants included social workers and staff from the Kholmy community. They learned about:

  • risk factors for cardiovascular diseases
  • healthy lifestyles and physical activity
  • the impact of stress on the cardiovascular system
  • prevention and early diagnosis

Special attention was given to:

  • taking care of one’s own health
  • reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases
  • seeking timely medical advice

The event aimed to strengthen the professional competence of staff and enhance their capacity to provide quality support to the community. This contributes to improving service quality, fostering stronger partnerships, and building trust among the local population.
