Yesterday, the French Ambassador to Ukraine, Gaël Veyssière, visited a Ukrainian Red Cross heating point
During the visit, he was briefed on the operation of the heating points that the organisation has set up to support people during the challenging energy situation. The delegation was informed about how the Ukrainian Red Cross is responding to the impacts of attacks on energy infrastructure and assisting the population during prolonged power and heating outages.
At the heating points, people can warm up, have hot drinks, receive meals, charge their mobile devices, and access psychosocial support.
The discussion also covered the scale of the humanitarian response to the energy crisis, the establishment of support centres across different regions of the country, and the support provided by international partners, including France.
Visits like this allow partners to see the impact of humanitarian work on the ground and strengthen cooperation to support people during the most difficult times.
