“There was a strike, and the team rushed to help” – Home-Based Care: Supporting Those Who Are Alone

Nina lives with her son, who has a disability and has survived two strokes. She says the years are taking their toll, and managing the household is becoming increasingly difficult. That’s why she turned to the Ukrainian Red Cross and became a beneficiary of the Home-Based Care programme.

“There was a strike nearby. I called the Ukrainian Red Cross social care assistants, and they came straight away to help clean up the glass. When it’s icy outside, I don’t go out at all. They bring water, groceries, and medicine. The Ukrainian Red Cross is an organisation that our people truly need,” Nina shares.
