The Ukrainian Red Cross team once again took part in an important initiative — blood donation, which saves lives every day
In response to the emergency situation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues to support the national blood donation system. At the initiative of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention programme, Ukrainian Red Cross staff and volunteers in Kyiv donated blood and blood components to the Armed Forces of Ukraine Blood Centre for the fourth time. Partners from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement also joined the donation. This support is vital for people who are wounded or critically ill and in urgent need of medical care.
The Ukrainian Red Cross provides systematic support to blood donation efforts across the country by:
- cooperating with blood centres;
- facilitating the delivery of blood to medical facilities;
- promoting a culture of voluntary blood donation among the population.
Through these efforts, we demonstrate our solidarity, care, and commitment to those who are most in need. Just 30 minutes of time and one blood donation can help save up to three lives.
