The Story of Halyna Korzh — About the Strength to Start Over and Believe in Yourself at Any Age
Halyna is in her 60s and lives in Oleksandriia, Kirovohrad region. She is currently the oldest participant in the Ukrainian Red Cross’s Reboot programme. Her journey is a remarkable example of resilience, perseverance, and openness to change, despite life’s challenges.
From a young age, Halyna dreamed of becoming a hairdresser, inspired by her self-taught father, whose work attracted clients from the entire village. Life, however, took a different course: her studies, years working in trade, health challenges, reaching retirement age, and changes in the country. Yet her dream never faded.
When she learned about the hairdressing training offered through the Reboot programme, Halyna took a decisive step — returning to the classroom once again. Age did not hold her back; it became a source of motivation.
Today, she is confidently mastering her new profession and considering starting her own business. Her story shows that it is never too late to reboot your life, and that the path to self-fulfilment begins with believing in yourself.
