Video: Providing people with essential assistance — Ukrainian Red Cross aid stations

“We need to provide people with what is most essential — so that they can stay in touch with their loved ones and take timely steps to ensure their own safety,” says Olena Sakharova, Deputy Commander of the emergency response team of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

In the Brovary district, two Ukrainian Red Cross aid stations operated over two days. People could charge their phones, warm themselves, have hot tea or coffee, and fill thermoses with water.

It should be noted that, following the heavy attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region on Saturday, 27 December, most settlements were left without electricity, water, or heating.
