Cherkasy Region: The Ukrainian Red Cross is providing assistance at the site of the attack
The team of the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross promptly arrived at the site of the attack. In close coordination with the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region, and the National Police, volunteers are supporting the affected population.
At present, two Ukrainian Red Cross assistance points have been set up, where people can warm up and have hot tea or coffee. Specialists are also providing psychological first aid.
The emergency response team, together with emergency response specialists, is assessing damaged homes and distributing building materials, including plastic sheeting, tarpaulins and OSB boards. Volunteers are helping local residents to address the consequences of the attack, in particular by boarding up windows and doors and covering damaged roofs with plastic sheeting and tarpaulins.
A total of 40 volunteers and staff members of the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross are working at the site.
