Over 9,000 Visits by Ukrainian Red Cross Mobile Rehabilitation Units in One Year
Throughout 2025, the physical and mental rehabilitation teams of the Ukrainian Red Cross continued their systematic work to develop accessible rehabilitation services in communities.
During this time, mobile rehabilitation units supported nearly 2,000 beneficiaries, working across 13 regions of the country, directly with people at their homes and in specially equipped rehabilitation spaces, ensuring assistance for those with limited access to such services.
Over the year, nine Ukrainian Red Cross rehabilitation spaces were operational, seven of which were opened in 2025.
An important part of the work also included the provision of assistive rehabilitation devices — more than 2,000 items were distributed, helping to increase independence and improve quality of life.
In addition to providing individual support for beneficiaries, specialists from the mobile rehabilitation units conducted training sessions for relatives of beneficiaries, healthcare and social professionals, and community members, sharing knowledge about rehabilitation and recovery.
At the end of the year, the social recovery programme resumed, with participation from 43 veteran families. The programme is designed to support recovery, adaptation, and the strengthening of family resources following experiences of war.
Developing community-based rehabilitation services remains one of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s key priorities, ensuring that support is available and accessible where it is needed most.
