The Ukrainian Red Cross Home-Based Care team in the Sumy region visited over 40 beneficiaries to collect feedback

During December, the Sumy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross visited 41 beneficiaries. These included elderly people living alone and persons with disabilities residing in seven villages across the Konotop and Romny districts of the Sumy region. The purpose of the visits was to assess the quality of services provided.

Social helpers support beneficiaries on a daily basis with household chores, shopping for food and medicines, personal hygiene, and meal preparation, while also providing emotional support, which is equally important. When needed, they also accompany beneficiaries to medical facilities.

The Home-Based Care programme is implemented in the Sumy region with the support of the Swedish Red Cross. Currently, 301 people receive social services from 55 social helpers across 33 villages in the region. This assistance goes beyond everyday tasks and is truly vital for people who require external support and care.
