A series of training sessions to prepare instructors in Psychological First Aid (PFA) has concluded in Kyiv
The programme, organised by the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the National Resistance Centres, aims to equip future instructors not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the confidence to deliver training to different community groups.
Participants covered key PFA topics, practised facilitation skills, simulated training sessions, and received supervision from trainers. This approach helped them develop a thorough understanding of how to teach people to support those experiencing a crisis.
During the sessions, the instructors’ well-being was given special consideration. A safe space was created where participants could discuss their experiences, share insights, ask questions about mental health, and receive support.
The completion of this series marks an important step in expanding the network of trained professionals who can now share this knowledge within their communities. Since September, Ukrainian Red Cross trainers have certified a total of 46 instructors.
In 2026, the Ukrainian Red Cross will continue its partnership with the National Resistance Centres to build a wider network of instructors and ensure communities across the country have access to practical knowledge and support during times of crisis.
