The Tracing Service and Restoring Family Links team of the Ukrainian Red Cross organised a festive event for children from families of missing persons and prisoners of war ahead of the winter holidays
The event brought together around 50 participants, including children under the age of 12 and their relatives. It was a day filled with genuine emotions, laughter, and a sense of care — something that is especially important for every family going through a difficult time. The children took part in various activities, visited Saint Nicholas’ house, shared their wishes, and received gifts.
Mothers and grandmothers who attended with the children had the opportunity to share in these joyful moments. Witnessing the children’s delight and excitement is a source of strength and hope, particularly when life is full of uncertainty and waiting.
The event was initiated by the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service in cooperation with volunteers and the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk city branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with support from the partner organisation, Zakhyst Derzhavy NGO.
Preparations for the event began well in advance, including the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Ivano-Frankivsk regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, Zakhyst Derzhavy NGO in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, and the Tracing Service of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Together, we bring children joy and a sense of support — and that is what matters most!
