Psychological First Aid Training Held in Kyiv for Staff of the State Archive of Kyiv Region
The training taught participants to recognise common reactions to stressful and crisis situations, using the three key principles of Psychological First Aid (PFA): Look. Listen. Link. Special attention was given to self-care, self-help techniques, and emotional regulation skills while working with visitors.
The session was conducted by trainers from the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support programme of the Ukrainian Red Cross. Through practical exercises, role-playing scenarios, and discussions, participants practised tools that help provide support to people in high-pressure or crisis situations.
For the staff of the State Archive of the Kyiv region, these skills are particularly important, as they interact with citizens daily and often serve as the first point of contact. Providing basic psychological support benefits not only the visitors but also the staff themselves, helping them maintain their own resilience and emotional well-being.
