Early in the morning, outside what appears at first glance to be an abandoned building by a river in the Kyiv region, it is busy and bustling. Several dozen people have gathered here, all wearing the red-and-white uniforms recognised around the world. These are Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers who have travelled from different regions of Ukraine to take part in joint training — practising the skills they rely on every day. These skills have become especially vital during the full-scale war in Ukraine.
