Ongoing Response to the Strike on a Residential Building in Vyshhorod
From the first moments after the strike, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kyiv region, working alongside first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, have been on-site at the residential building in Vyshhorod.
In coordination with the State Emergency Service, the volunteers evacuated residents and provided first aid to the injured. A relief point and a temporary shelter point were also set up, where affected people could receive support and essential items. Currently, around-the-clock shifts have been organised at the Points of Invincibility, and building materials are being distributed for temporary repairs to damaged homes. The Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point and the Point of Invincibility are operational, providing a space for affected residents and responding personnel to warm up, rest, charge their mobile phones, and have hot drinks. Volunteers are also helping to clear dangerous debris.
More than 30 volunteers are involved in the response. Additional support has come from volunteers of the emergency response teams from the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross and the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as spontaneous volunteers and members of the local volunteer fire brigade.
Response and recovery operations are ongoing.
