The Ukrainian Red Cross Opens a Community Center in Ladyzhyn

This is a safe, inclusive, and accessible space designed to serve as a hub of support, assistance, and development for everyone in need.

The Community Center offers a wide range of services and opportunities, including:

  • social consultations;
  • information sessions;
  • psychosocial support;
  • participation in volunteer initiatives;
  • training sessions, meetings, and other educational activities;
  • a welcoming environment where anyone can receive support;
  • a cosy and safe space for interaction, personal growth, and close collaboration with other institutions and organisations.

“Opening the Community Center is a significant step for local residents, as it focuses on people in need of support. The fact that the Ukrainian Red Cross carries out its core activities in the city demonstrates effective cooperation between the community and local authorities. It is thanks to the support of the authorities that such important initiatives are made possible. I am confident this will not be our last project. We are all working for the people, and collaboration between authorities and the community is key to sustainable development,” emphasised Volodymyr Rudenko, Head of the Central-Western Interregional Office of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

Olena Pedoruk, Head of the Vinnytsia regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, highlighted:

 “It is a great honour for us that the official opening of the Community Center took place here in Ladyzhyn. This space allows us to provide assistance more effectively, strengthen the community, and ensure that everyone who comes receives the support they need. The fact that the Center has opened here reflects the capacity of the local organisation, its deep understanding of the community’s needs, and the strong support of authorities and partners. It is precisely this kind of collaboration that makes all the achievements we see today possible.”

Supporting local communities and developing such spaces is a key part of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s work. Community Centers provide people with the opportunity to seek help close to home — in a safe environment where professionals, support, and a space for personal development are available.

Anna Drevnytska, Coordinator of the Community Center, said:

“Our Community Center is intended to become the true heart of the community. It is a place where people can receive help in difficult life situations. Here, anyone can find support, guidance, or simply a listening ear. The Center brings together different generations and creates a warm and safe space. It is here that initiatives are born that make the community stronger.”
