Over 5,600 Consultations Delivered by Family Doctors from Ukrainian Red Cross Mobile Health Units in Dnipro Region
Family doctors, nurses, and psychologists visit communities where access to healthcare is limited or entirely absent. They provide primary medical care, offer consultations, measure blood pressure, supply essential medicines when needed, and provide emotional support. Last month alone, 10 teams carried out 191 visits, and family doctors provided 5,656 primary consultations.
Feedback from many residents highlights that these visits are not only about healthcare but also about attention, care, and humanity. This is particularly important for older adults, internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
Due to the constantly changing situation and ongoing hostilities in different parts of the region, access to healthcare is challenging, and some medical facilities have been damaged or destroyed by shelling. The schedule of visits is adjusted by the Primary Health Care Centre and the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units in line with safety rules for both staff and residents. The team continues to do everything possible to provide assistance to those in need. Activities in the Dnipro region are implemented with the support of the Norwegian Red Cross.
