New rehabilitation space opens in Volyn with support from the Ukrainian Red Cross

A new rehabilitation space has begun operating in Rozhyshche, set up at the local sports school through the cooperation of the Volyn regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross and with support from the German Red Cross. Its main focus is to support veterans who require physical rehabilitation following injuries, trauma or illness.

“With the support of our partners from the German Red Cross, we have fitted the rehabilitation space with modern equipment — including a treadmill, cross-trainer, vibration platform, rowing machine, exercise bike and a Bubnovsky multifunctional training machine,” noted Valentyna Pryshko, Head of the Volyn regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

The facility is fully equipped to ensure safe and high-quality physical recovery, including equipment suitable for different levels of physical ability. The sports school staff renovated the premises, set up a changing room and shower, and ensured wheelchair accessibility, making the space comfortable and user-friendly for veterans in need of rehabilitation.

Staff have received training in evidence-based rehabilitation, and local Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers specialising in physical and psychosocial rehabilitation will also support the ongoing operation of the facility.

The new space will provide essential support for veterans and community members who require regular physical rehabilitation.
