Khmelnytskyi: The Ukrainian Red Cross is responding at the site of an explosion in a residential building
Yesterday, 28 October, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team took part in efforts to deal with the aftermath of an explosion that occurred in a multi-storey residential building in Khmelnytskyi.
The volunteers set up a Ukrainian Red Cross support point, where first aid and psychological first aid are being provided to people evacuated from the damaged building. Those affected, as well as members of the emergency services working at the scene, can have a hot drink and a snack.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, nine flats were destroyed and another fifteen were damaged as a result of the explosion. Five people were injured, including a child. The Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration reported that the bodies of two people were recovered from the rubble during the night.
