In Odesa, the Ukrainian Red Cross organised a series of training sessions for 55 social helpers

To strengthen the quality of social services, the Ukrainian Red Cross organised four training sessions for the Home-Based Care team. Fifty-five participants from the Odesa region took part in the training, which covered the following topics:

  • safe patient transfer techniques;
  • patient positioning;
  • assistive rehabilitation devices;
  • shoulder pain management after a stroke.

The aim of the training was to ensure effective, safe, and high-quality home care.

Thanks to experienced trainers specialising in physical and mental rehabilitation, a series of specialised sessions was conducted, helping participants enhance their knowledge and improve their practical skills in key aspects of care and rehabilitation.

These skills will enable the team to reduce the risk of complications such as pressure sores or falls, while improving the comfort and well-being of people who are unable to move independently and require ongoing care.
