Youth development — the key to a safer future: Ukrainian Red Cross specialists enhance their knowledge to work more effectively with young people on mine safety

Specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross’s Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) team took part in a youth training event supported by the Danish Red Cross.

The purpose of the event was to strengthen participants’ competencies in communicating with young people and to develop their skills in effectively delivering mine risk education through a variety of formats.

During the training:

  • a puppet show for children on the topic of mine safety was presented;
  • participants developed their own projects to promote mine risk education initiatives across Ukraine;
  • specialists gained practical knowledge in public speaking, communication, audience engagement, and building confidence.

Such training initiatives not only enhance the professional capacity of staff but also provide a platform for experience-sharing, generating new ideas, and introducing innovative approaches to awareness-raising activities.

The Ukrainian Red Cross expresses its sincere gratitude to the Danish Red Cross and Youth specialists for supporting initiatives aimed at developing young professionals. Young people are the driving force of change and play a vital role in building a safe and conscious society.

Together, we continue working to ensure that everyone knows how to act when encountering explosive ordnance and feels safe in their community. безпеці.
