The Ukrainian Red Cross supports community recovery: construction begins on the Centre for Community Support and Recovery in Vorzel
On 21 October, a ceremonial capsule laying marked the start of construction of the Centre for Community Support and Recovery in the town of Vorzel, Bucha community. This modern facility will become a hub of support, cooperation, and community development.
This important project is being implemented through the collaboration of the Ukrainian Red Cross, Bucha City Council, and with the support of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
“Supporting communities during the war has always been and remains our priority. Strong communities are the foundation of a comfortable and quality life for everyone. The Centre for Community Support and Recovery in Vorzel will be a place where people can receive the support they need and find space for physical and psychological recovery. This is an investment in the community’s resilience and the future of the entire country,” emphasised Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The future Centre will include:
- a village council office and an administrative services centre;
- employment counselling and legal support services;
- a modern library and recreational area for residents;
- facilities for physical and psychological rehabilitation for veterans and civilians;
- a shelter that will be converted into a hall for community events.
“We are not just building a facility — we are laying the foundation for a future where everyone can find support, growth, and inspiration. Thanks to the Red Cross, our partners, and all those who put their work and heart into rebuilding the Bucha community,” said Anatolii Fedoruk, Mayor of Bucha.
This will be a place of mutual support and solidarity, helping local residents move forward and rebuild their lives after what they have endured.
The Ukrainian Red Cross will continue to support communities, helping to create safe and resilient spaces for building a new future for Ukraine.
