The Ukrainian Red Cross supports residents of the Shostka community following recent attacks
Following recent strikes on critical infrastructure that left the Shostka community without electricity, gas, and water, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams are providing vital support to local residents.
In response, warming centres have been set up in Shostka, offering people a place to rest, have a cup of hot tea, charge their phones, and receive a hot meal. Two field kitchens have been established for this purpose, with volunteers and local cooks preparing meals for the community. Hot meals are currently being served at three separate locations.
A mobile hygiene and laundry unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross is operating at one of the sites, ensuring that people without access to water and sanitation can meet their basic hygiene needs.
The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to support people in difficult circumstances, providing essential assistance to all those affected by the war in Ukraine.
