Last weekend, the emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Kyiv region took part in the Kyiv Region Medical Response Exercise
The drill brought together emergency medical teams from across the region. At six different locations, participants practised various casualty care scenarios — from individual cases to mass casualty incidents.
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team volunteers were involved in one of the most complex scenarios: a simulated mass casualty response following a drone strike, as outlined in the exercise scenario.
Working alongside emergency medical crews, the volunteers practised:
- triage of casualties,
- evacuation,
- provision of first aid.
Such exercises are vital, as these scenarios can happen in real life. Only well-coordinated actions and effective cooperation between services make it possible to save more lives.
Together, we become better prepared for today’s challenges — and more capable of responding swiftly and effectively.
