The Ukrainian Red Cross and the State Archival Service of Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

The Memorandum outlines joint efforts to protect archival collections and support archival professionals amid the ongoing war. Preserving national memory and cultural heritage is not only a historical responsibility but also a humanitarian imperative.

The areas of cooperation include:

• training in first aid and psychosocial support;
• coordinating the evacuation of archival materials in the event of a threat;
• marking archival institutions with protective emblems in accordance with international humanitarian law.

We are confident that this Memorandum will provide a solid foundation for long-term collaboration and joint efforts in support of Ukraine. Our partnership will help safeguard critical archives and the professionals committed to their preservation, while also reinforcing the resilience of public institutions during wartime.
