The Ukrainian Red Cross has been supporting response efforts following the attack in the Kirovohrad region

Following the strike on the city of Znamianka, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kirovohrad region, along with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support team and emergency specialists from the Kirovohrad regional branch, provided vital assistance throughout the day.

An aid station was set up near the railway station, where more than 200 local residents sought help. There, people could charge their mobile devices, have tea or coffee, and, if needed, receive psychological first aid. In total, psychological support was provided to 246 individuals.

Residents whose homes were damaged also received building materials for temporary repairs, including plastic sheeting, tarpaulins, OSB boards, as well as humanitarian aid kits and food parcels, where necessary. A total of 60 people requested materials for emergency repairs.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a Russian UAV strike hit the Znamianka community on the night of 3 September. Five people were injured, 28 houses were damaged, and one was destroyed. Infrastructure facilities also sustained damage.
