Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs visited the Ukrainian Red Cross Psychosocial Support Centre in Uzhhorod
Today, Maria Malmer Stenergard, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, visited Ukraine. Accompanied by Martin Åberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Ukraine, she attended a psychosocial support session for volunteers at the Ukrainian Red Cross Psychosocial Support Centre in Uzhhorod.
During the visit, representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross discussed the current humanitarian situation in Ukraine and the ongoing impact of repeated attacks on Ukrainian cities — including the recent strike in Zakarpattia. They also outlined the organisation’s key areas of focus during the full-scale invasion, particularly emergency response and the provision of psychosocial support to those affected by the war, with a special emphasis on the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Zakarpattia region.
We are grateful to the Kingdom of Sweden for its continued and unwavering support for Ukraine during this challenging time.
