Last night, Kyiv was once again subjected to a large-scale attack
The Ukrainian Red Cross, in coordination with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, is responding on the ground to the aftermath of the strikes in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital.
At one location, emergency response team volunteers from the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross, alongside first responders, evacuated an elderly man from the fifth floor of a damaged residential building.
Together with other rescue services, volunteers assisted in the recovery of the bodies of two victims. First aid was administered to four people.
A Ukrainian Red Cross aid station was set up to support residents of damaged buildings and emergency workers. It provided a space to charge mobile devices, access tea or water, and receive psychological first aid.
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kyiv region was also deployed to another affected site. An aid station was established there, providing emergency responders tackling a fire caused by the attack with access to first aid and psychological support, if needed. Our volunteers also supported them in their ongoing response efforts.
Volunteers from the Sviatoshynskyi district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kyiv were also involved in the response.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the large-scale Russian strike on Kyiv — carried out using UAVs and missiles — resulted in the deaths of two people, including a child, and injured 20 others. Several residential buildings were damaged. Aircraft from the State Emergency Service have been deployed to help extinguish the fire.
Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
