8 September – World Physical Therapy Day
World Physical Therapy Day celebrates the unity and solidarity of the global community of physical therapists. It serves as a reminder of the vital role physical therapy plays in restoring health, independence, and quality of life for people around the world.
Physical therapists help individuals regain mobility after injury or illness, reduce pain, adapt to new living conditions, and stay active at any age. It is a profession that restores not only physical ability but also confidence — every single day.
At the Ukrainian Red Cross, physical therapists are part of mobile rehabilitation units, providing vital support to those who need it most, including veterans, people affected by the war, and anyone who has lost motor function due to injury, trauma, or illness.
Since the launch of the mobile rehabilitation units, more than 10,000 physical therapy sessions have been delivered. Behind each session is a person who has been given the chance to recover, take their first steps after injury, live without pain again, or regain their independence. These are not just figures — they represent thousands of stories of recovery and new beginnings.
Today, we thank all physical therapy professionals for their dedication and expertise, which continue to transform lives every day.
