International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances: Work of the Tracing Service
For thousands of Ukrainian families, the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances is not just a date on the calendar. It is a daily experience of uncertainty and hope. These are people who wait and long to be reunited with their loved ones, whom they continue to search for.
Among them is Tetiana from Chernihiv, who believes that one day she will be reunited with her missing son. And Valeriia from Kyiv, who hopes to see her father — a train driver from Mariupol — who is currently being held captive.
The Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service supports families of missing persons by assisting with applications, providing information, humanitarian aid, and other essential support. Often, their presence alone offers comfort during these difficult times.
Thanks to the support of reliable partners, we help families navigate the search process, provide ongoing support, and do everything possible to help them reconnect with their loved ones.
