Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units continue supporting remote communities in the Kharkiv region

Ongoing active hostilities in parts of the Kharkiv region have made it extremely difficult for residents to access healthcare facilities — and in some areas, hospitals and pharmacies are completely out of reach. In response, Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units carry out monthly visits to five remote locations in the region, where people are in urgent need of medical support.

One such location is Levkivka village in the Izium district. The mobile health units travel there twice a month, strictly following all safety protocols, to provide care to those who need it most. Around 20 people receive care during each visit — from young children to older adults. Doctors carry out general health check-ups, provide initial consultations, and, when needed, perform electrocardiograms, blood sugar tests, and childhood vaccinations in line with the national immunisation schedule.

This outreach programme in the Kharkiv region is delivered with the support of the French Red Cross.
