Kyiv: Ukrainian Red Cross on the Ground After Major Attack

Volunteers are providing first aid and psychological first aid to those affected and their families. An aid station has been set up, offering a place to charge phones and access water, tea, or coffee. It is open to victims, local residents, emergency workers, and response teams.

More than 20 volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams – from both the National Committee and the Darnytskyi district branch in Kyiv – are currently involved in the response.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Russian strike on the capital has claimed eight lives, including one child. At least 45 others have been injured.

We are grateful to the British Red Cross and the British Embassy in Ukraine for their support.

Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
