Preparations Begin for Winter Cash Assistance Projects in Frontline Regions for the 2025/26 Season
On 7 August, the Innovative Financing Unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross held a launch workshop to kick off preparations for implementing winter cash assistance projects targeting frontline regions during the 2025/26 season.
The workshop brought together specialists from eight regional branches — Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv — as well as relevant departments and units of the National Committee and partner organisations, including the Danish Red Cross. During the meeting, participants discussed approaches, tools, and the implementation timeline for the upcoming programme, and agreed on key coordination steps between teams.
Workshops like this help establish processes in advance, ensuring transparency and efficiency in future projects. As a result, assistance can be delivered quickly and in the most accessible format as soon as the programme officially launches.
The programme is being implemented by teams from the National Committee and regional branches of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with support from the British, Austrian, Norwegian, and Danish Red Cross societies.
