Swedish Red Cross Delegation Visits Sumy Region to Observe Supported Programmes
For two days, a delegation from the Swedish Red Cross visited the Sumy region to see first-hand how humanitarian programmes supported by their organisation are being implemented. These include:
- Livelihoods Support Programme: In the Krolevets community, the third phase of the programme is currently underway. A total of 152 households have received their first cash transfer to develop their own businesses, based on approved business plans.
- Mobile Health Units: Six mobile health units are operating across the communities of Krolevets, Trostianets, Hlukhiv, Nedryhailiv, Vilshany, Korovyntsi, Putyvl, and Krasnopillia. These units travel to remote villages to provide medical assistance to people who are unable to reach healthcare facilities on their own.
“We saw with our own eyes how these programmes work on the ground. Conversations with participants show that these services are in high demand,” said Marcus Sjöqvist, Programme Manager with the Swedish Red Cross delegation in Ukraine.
We sincerely thank the Swedish Red Cross for their continued support and partnership, which enables thousands of people in Ukraine to receive vital assistance and a chance to rebuild their lives.
