Assistance in Responding to the Aftermath of Forest Fires in the Mykolaiv Region
For several days, efforts have been ongoing to extinguish wildfires in one of the local forestry areas in the Mykolaiv region. Weather conditions are making firefighting efforts more difficult.
Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team are supporting the firefighters. A tent has been set up on-site, providing drinking water, tea, coffee, and snacks. If needed, firefighters can receive first aid and psychological first aid.
According to preliminary data from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region, 45 fires broke out within 24 hours, burning over 34 hectares of land. One of the fires was caused by ongoing hostilities.
