In Kherson, the Ukrainian Red Cross is assisting with the evacuation of residents from the Korabel district

Following recent strikes on the bridge connecting Ostriv (the Korabel district) with other parts of the city, local authorities have urged residents to leave the area. The evacuation is being carried out by the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kherson region, in cooperation with other emergency services and volunteers.

As of 16:00 on 5 August, 693 people have been evacuated, including 49 children and 86 people with limited mobility.

Evacuees are being supported to reach safer areas under the control of the Ukrainian Government, including temporary shelters, hospitals, or the homes of relatives. Many have chosen to leave — some for the second time since the full-scale invasion began.

During the evacuation, people receive guidance, support, drinking water, food, and, where necessary, first aid and psychological support. Pets are also being evacuated.

We remain committed to ensuring the safety of all those affected.
