The Ukrainian Red Cross provides assistance following night attacks in Odesa and Cherkasy
- Odesa
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Odesa region responded to the scene of the emergency. Volunteers helped evacuate one resident from a damaged building and provided first aid to four people. An additional 15 people received psychological first aid. Volunteers also supplied rescue workers and local residents with drinking water.
Humanitarian aid is currently being distributed at the site, including plastic sheeting for temporary repairs to damaged homes.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a Russian drone attack destroyed a nine-storey residential building and a market. Residents were evacuated from the damaged building.
- Cherkasy
The team from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross is working at the emergency site.
A Ukrainian Red Cross aid station has been set up, offering psychological first aid to those affected. Visitors can also charge their mobile phones and have a cup of tea or water. Volunteers are on site, ready to provide first aid if needed. In cooperation with the emergency services, volunteers from the Cherkasy emergency response team are distributing plastic sheeting, tarpaulins, and OSB boards and assisting residents of damaged homes with temporary repairs.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a rocket attack on Cherkasy damaged the windows and roofs of 15 apartment blocks. One child and six adults were injured.
