Comprehensive support for a border community in the Chernihiv region
The physical and mental rehabilitation team of the Chernihiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross visited the Horodnia community — a border community in the Chernihiv region.
Together with resilience-building specialists and staff from the Horodnia City Council’s Social Services Centre, the team conducted a full set of therapeutic and wellness exercises at the city stadium, aimed at improving physical health and overall wellbeing.
A key part of the programme was an information session on the topic: “How to Prevent Cardiovascular Disease”. The trainer outlined risk factors, symptoms to be aware of, and most importantly, prevention strategies — including physical activity, blood pressure control, nutrition, and mental health.
The Ukrainian Red Cross continues its active support for the Horodnia community. So far, 12 people have received rehabilitation services, and 14 assistive rehabilitation devices have been provided.
At the same time, we maintain close cooperation with the director of the Social Services Centre and the specialist supporting veterans and demobilised individuals, strengthening the case management approach to more effectively address the needs of the community.
