In Lanivtsi, Ternopil region, a Ukrainian Red Cross health consultant delivered sessions for first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine

Personnel from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) frequently operate in high-stress, physically demanding situations, making it essential for them to look after their own health. To support healthy lifestyles and prevent disease, the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted an information session on hypertension and a practical session on blood pressure measurement for members of the Ternopil Regional Unit of the SES.

During the session, participants learned about:

  • normal blood pressure ranges and factors that can influence changes;
  • how to correctly measure blood pressure;
  • common mistakes in measurement;
  • the importance of blood pressure control in preventing cardiovascular diseases;
  • recommendations for maintaining healthy blood pressure levels.

The knowledge and practical skills gained will help participants care for their own health and, if needed, provide accurate and effective assistance to others.

This activity is part of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Programme of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Ternopil region, implemented with the support of the Norwegian Red Cross.
