The Ukrainian Red Cross Responds to Attacks in Kyiv, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv Regions

  • Тhe Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kyiv region promptly arrived at the scene of the attack. Volunteers assisted in firefighting efforts alongside the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and were on hand to provide first aid.

The Ukrainian Red Cross is currently operating two aid stations at separate locations. At one of the sites, residents of damaged buildings can receive plastic sheeting and tarpaulins. People can also charge their mobile devices, have tea or water, and receive first aid or psychological support if needed.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, on the night of 6 July, Russian forces launched a UAV attack on the Kyiv region, causing destruction and fires in both industrial and residential areas of the Vyshhorod district. One person was injured.

  • In Mykolaiv, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Mykolaiv region responded at the scene of another attack.

Volunteers searched the area for injured individuals and provided first aid to those affected.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, on the morning of 6 July, Russian forces launched another attack on Mykolaiv. Two fires broke out in the city’s private sector as a result of drone strikes and falling debris. Two people have been reported injured. Response efforts are ongoing.

  • In Kharkiv, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kharkiv region was also active at the site of an attack on the city. Volunteers carried out a walkthrough of damaged buildings and surrounding areas to locate victims, offering both first aid and psychological support.

Based on identified needs, humanitarian aid is currently being distributed at three locations, including emergency kits, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, and more. A Ukrainian Red Cross support point has also been set up, where both emergency workers and affected individuals can receive first aid, psychological support, and access to water, tea or coffee.
