The Ukrainian Red Cross helps equip educational spaces within school shelters in the Kharkiv region
In June, the Ukrainian Red Cross Mental Health and Psychosocial Support team, in partnership with the Danish Red Cross, took an important step to support schools in the Kharkiv region by donating 10 support kits to equip educational spaces within school shelters with essential materials.
The kits were delivered to:
- 8 schools in Berestyn district (Berestyn, Kehychivka, and Starovirivka communities);
- 1 school in the village of Blyzniuky, Lozova district;
- 1 school in Korotych, Kharkiv district.
Each kit contains everything needed to create a safe and welcoming environment: stationery, anti-stress toys, educational games, children’s books, hygiene products, as well as flashlights and batteries. These kits enable psychosocial support classes and allow for a rapid response to the needs of children and adults in crisis situations.
The kits were handed over with the active involvement of representatives from the district branches of the Ukrainian Red Cross and local authorities.
We continue working to ensure that every child has access to a safe space and the support they need — even in times of war.
