The emergency response team of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross was deployed to the sites of the attacks in two districts of the capital
In Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district, a team of volunteers provided first aid to three injured people in a shelter.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Russian attack damaged civilian infrastructure, including the partial destruction of a five-storey residential building. A fire broke out on the roof of a seven-storey building, covering an area of 2,000 square metres. Additional fires were reported at a warehouse, a service station, and a block of garages.
In Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district, volunteers evacuated two elderly people and a cat from the 12th floor of a residential building. First aid was provided to four people.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a fire broke out in a 14-storey residential building as a result of the strike. Several cars also caught fire. On the ground, volunteers also offered psychological first aid to those affected.
The Solomianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi district branches of the Ukrainian Red Cross are currently operating aid stations in Kyiv. Volunteers are providing residents of the damaged buildings with humanitarian assistance, including construction materials for temporary repairs, and offering water and tea to those affected and emergency workers.
According to Ihor Klymenko, Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, residential buildings, educational and medical facilities, as well as transport infrastructure, have been damaged. As of this morning, more than 20 people have been injured, including a 10-year-old girl.
