Almost 40 Hours of Support: Ukrainian Red Cross Response in Kyiv
Following another overnight attack on Kyiv — which struck a residential building — emergency response teams from the Ukrainian Red Cross provided assistance at the scene for nearly 39 hours.
First aid was administered to four people, while three others received psychological support. A Ukrainian Red Cross aid station operated continuously, offering tea, coffee, and phone charging facilities to victims, local residents, emergency responders, police officers, and utility workers. On the night of 23–24 June, a field kitchen was also in operation, providing hot meals.
Volunteers additionally distributed pet food and carriers to support animals left homeless by the attack.
Emergency response teams from the Ukrainian Red Cross National Committee, as well as from Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, took part in the response.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Russian missile strike killed nine people and injured at least 30 others.
