The Ukrainian Red Cross conducted training on the use of mobile hygiene units
The Ukrainian Red Cross held a four-day training session for volunteers and staff in the Kyiv region on how to operate a mobile shower and laundry unit and a mobile water purification unit. These facilities are designed to support people in the field by helping them maintain hygiene and access clean water. The training was supported by the Austrian Red Cross.
During the training, participants:
- became familiar with the technical features of mobile hygiene facilities;
- learned how to deploy, maintain, and transport the equipment;
- exchanged experiences with volunteers from the Austrian Red Cross and the Swedish Red Cross;
- suggested improvements to the wastewater treatment system.
Field solutions for hygiene and access to safe water are not just about equipment — they are about protecting health and preserving human dignity in emergencies.
