The Ukrainian Red Cross Provides Assistance to Victims of Attacks

  • Kyiv

Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams have been providing assistance at multiple locations across Kyiv. In particular, volunteers administered first aid to 19 individuals in the Shevchenkivskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the city. In the Solomianskyi district, volunteers, in coordination with first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, provided both first aid and psychological first aid to those affected.

Hot meals are currently being distributed to emergency workers involved in the rescue efforts.

Emergency response teams from the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, and Poltava regions, along with the National Committee’s emergency response team, have been mobilised to assist in the response.

Bodies are being recovered from the rubble. Numerous residential buildings have been destroyed, and civilian infrastructure has sustained significant damage.

Rescue operations are ongoing.

  • Odesa

Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Odesa region were deployed to the scene of the recent attack in the city, working alongside other emergency services.

The volunteers provided first aid to more than 10 injured individuals and assisted in evacuating two victims from damaged buildings.

Over 30 people received psychological first aid. A Ukrainian Red Cross aid station is operating at the site, offering humanitarian support in the form of construction materials. Residents of the affected buildings and emergency workers can also charge their mobile phones, access drinking water and coffee, and receive both first aid and psychological first aid.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, residential buildings, an inclusive centre, and vehicles were damaged in the Russian overnight attack on the city. The Odesa Regional State Administration has reported 17 injuries. There have also been fatalities, and people may still be trapped under the rubble.

Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
