Mental Health Centre Opens in Vinnytsia with Support from the Ukrainian Red Cross
A Mental Health Centre has opened in Vinnytsia, marking the first dedicated space in Ukraine aimed at expanding access to psychosocial support. Its primary objective is to deliver high-quality psychological assistance to residents of remote communities by training specialists at the Centre who will then work within those communities.
This inclusive space was established on the initiative of, and with funding from, the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration as part of the All-Ukrainian mental health programme “How Are You?”, launched by First Lady Olena Zelenska. The project also involves the Regional Centre for Social Services, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The Centre is primarily focused on supporting the psychological recovery of veterans, families of missing persons, and internally displaced individuals, but it remains open to anyone in need of support.
The Vinnytsia regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with support from the Danish Red Cross, has ensured that the youngest visitors to the Centre are welcomed into a safe and friendly environment. In addition, the Ukrainian Red Cross has donated a generator to help ensure the Centre’s uninterrupted operation.
Caring for mental health is a shared responsibility. The Ukrainian Red Cross remains committed to supporting initiatives that help people face today’s challenges and restore their inner strength.
